- A lasting physical mark I’ve left on the world, albeit a small one, is the seating in the British Library in London. In the early 1990s, I worked on the project that produced the chairs, machining the prototypes and production samples from designs by the late, great furniture designer Ron Carter. It’s nice to think that many of those chairs are still in daily use more than 30 years later. Here’s a photo of the British Library Reading Room with the aforementioned chairs
